Mer supports python 2.6 by default
There are several extensions for mer/maemo see both the Garage page and the PyMaemo PyMaemo page
python-defaults trunk supports 2.6... worth snapshotting for Mer (6 Jul 09)

- python-hildon
- python-hildondesktop
- python-launcher
- python-conic
- python-osso
- pygame
